The story so farThe Children Act 1989 (Amendment) (Female Genital Mutilation) Bill was introduced in the House of Lords on 3 July 2017 by Lord Berkeley of Knighton (Crossbench). It completed its passage through Parliament and became law as the Children Act 1989 (Amendment) (Female Genital Mutilation) Act 2019, receiving Royal Assent on 15 March 2019.
