GB Politics is built on openly-licensed public data. This page lists our sources and the attributions their licences require. We keep it current as we add new data.

UK Parliament

MPs and Lords, divisions and votes, bills, debates, questions and committees come from the official UK Parliament data services, licensed under the Open Parliament Licence v3.0.

Contains Parliamentary information licensed under the Open Parliament Licence v3.0.

Constituencies & postcodes

Postcode-to-constituency lookups use postcodes.io. Constituency names, codes and boundaries come from the Office for National Statistics Open Geography Portal, licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0, which contains Ordnance Survey and Royal Mail data.

Where shown, official MP portraits come from the Parliament Members API portrait set and are used under Creative Commons Attribution 3.0. Their use here does not imply any endorsement by Parliament or the individuals pictured.

A note on personal data

Some records, such as members' registered interests, donations and expenses, concern named individuals. The open licences above cover the information, not personal data. Where we publish this, we always link to the official source and present it as published there, without adding new inferences. This is the same public-interest basis on which the official bodies publish it.
