The story so farThe Local Government (Disqualification) Bill was introduced in the House of Commons on 16 June 2021 by Sir Paul Beresford (Conservative). It completed its passage through Parliament and became law as the Local Government (Disqualification) Act 2022, receiving Royal Assent on 28 April 2022.
