The story so farThe Animal Welfare (Import of Dogs, Cats and Ferrets) Bill was introduced in the House of Commons on 16 October 2024 by Dr Danny Chambers (Liberal Democrat). It completed its passage through Parliament and became law as the Animal Welfare (Import of Dogs, Cats and Ferrets) Act, receiving Royal Assent on 2 December 2025.
