The story so farThe Forced Marriage (Civil Protection) Bill was introduced in the House of Lords on 16 November 2006 by Lord Lester of Herne Hill (Liberal Democrat). It completed its passage through Parliament and became law as the Forced Marriage (Civil Protection) Act 2007, receiving Royal Assent on 26 July 2007.
