Building Regulations (Amendment) Bill [HL]

The story so farThe Building Regulations (Amendment) Bill was introduced in the House of Lords on 19 November 2009 by Lord Harrison (Labour). It is now at report stage in the House of Lords. What the bill does

<p>The Building Regulations (Amendment) Bill proposes that all new residential premises must be fitted with an automatic fire suppression system. </p><p><br><strong>Key areas</strong></p><ul><li>The Bill would amend the Building Regulations 2000, SI 2000/2531, to make it a requirement that new residential premises are built with automatic fire suppression systems.</li></ul><ul><li>The requirement would apply to England and Wales only.</li></ul>
