Scotland Act 2012

The story so farThe Scotland Bill was introduced in the House of Commons on 30 November 2010 by Michael Moore (Liberal Democrat). It completed its passage through Parliament and became law as the Scotland Act 2012, receiving Royal Assent on 1 May 2012.

What the bill does

<p>The Bill will implement recommendations of the Final Report of the Commission on Scottish Devolution (the Calman Commission). </p><p>It would make changes to the finances of the Scottish Parliament, including a new Scottish rate of income tax, and make a number of adjustments to the boundary of devolved responsibilities.</p>
