The story so farThe Coinage (Measurement) Bill was introduced in the House of Commons on 30 June 2010 by Mark Lancaster (Conservative). It completed its passage through Parliament and became law as the Coinage (Measurement) Act 2011, receiving Royal Assent on 3 November 2011.

What the bill does

The Bill would amend the Coinage Act 1971 to enable the Royal Mint to strike commemorative coins of one kilogram or more for the 2012 London Olympics.
