NEWHAM RECORDER AWARD

That this House congratulates the Newham Recorder in winning the Newspaper Society award as Campaigning Newspaper of the Year in support of the Newham Needs Campaign by featuring the damaging effects on ordinary people of Her Majesty's Government's unfair and unjust standard spending assessments which restrict expenditure of local government to levels below those specified by Ministers as necessary to provide statutory standards of service.
