AGE CONCERN AND BENEFITS TAKE-UP

That this House congratulates Age Concern on promoting Your Rights Week between 19th April and 25th April to increase take-up benefits among older people on low incomes; notes that up to one million pensioners eligible to receive income support and housing benefit are likely to be enduring hardship by going without their full entitlement of nearly ú1 billion; and calls upon the Government to initiate a renewed take-up campaign and review its policy.
