The motion

That this House condemns the assassination of Dr Kazem Rajavi, the brother of Mr Massoud Rajav, the leader of the Iranian Resistance, who for many years strove to expose the crimes committed by the Khomeini regime and to publicise the Iranian people's struggle for peace and freedom; believes that this demonstrates the true nature of the ruling regime in Iran, and furthermore feels that the regime is being encouraged by Galindo Pohl's human rights report which singularly failed to deal with the most fundamental issue of human rights in Iran; furthermore, since Dr Kazem Rajavi was a tireless human rights campaigner, calls upon Her Majesty's Government to make the strongest possible representations to the United Nations for a Special Representative, accompanied by representatives of the Iranian Resistance to be appointed to investigate the violation of human rights in Iran; and finally calls upon Her Majesty's Government to voice its unequivocal support for those groups campaigning for human rights, freedom and justice in Iran.
