The motion
That this House values greatly the services provided by the Oxford Blood Transfusion Centre; commends its outstanding record in efficiency and quality in serving the public; recognises the importance of its proximity to hospitals in Oxford, Oxfordshire and adjacent counties, and their cardiothoracic, trauma, bone marrow transplant, leukaemia, orthopaedic and special care baby units; expresses its serious concern at the loss of locally based testing, analysis and related blood services envisaged in the National Blood Authority reorganisation; and calls on the National Blood Authority to reconsider its proposals and to secure the future of the Oxford Blood Transfusion Centre.
