PEACE IN LEBANON

That this House welcomes the ceasefire in Lebanon and urges all parties to maintain the agreement through which it was achieved; welcomes the return of thousands of Lebanese civilians to their homes; deplores the tragic loss of life among innocent Lebanese civilians; looks forward to Israel's complete withdrawal from Lebanese territory which could lead to lasting peace between the two countries and a period of constructive progress in Lebanon; and urges the United Kingdom Government carefully to consider requests for the specific purpose of repair and reconstruction to the homes and infrastructive damaged by the recent aggression.
