The motion
That this House welcomes the publication by Alzheimer Scotland-Action on Dementia of the report Putting Quality First to coincide with Dementia Awareness Week in Scotland; calls upon the Government to consider and act upon the report's recommendations; further calls on the Government to acknowledge that some 40 per cent. of people with dementia live in hospitals, nursing and residential care homes and that their complex and changing needs require staff specifically trained in the care of people with dementia as research has shown that the quality of care across all sectors is very variable; and urges the Government to take the various measures that are needed in order to raise standards to acceptable levels.
