MR ALEX NEIL

Tabled by Norman Hogg (Labour) 25 signatures

The motion

That this House welcomes the comments by Alex Neil, head of policy for the SNP, and those of the Prime Minister and the honourable Member for Banff and Buchan, who sees the establishment of a Scottish Parliament within the United Kingdom as a stepping stone to independence as 'daft'; and calls upon the leader of the SNP to make clear whether he intends to support the views of one of the most senior members of his party or instead continue to support the Tory Party's attack on the plans agreed by the Scottish Labour Party, the Scottish Liberal Democrats and other participants in the Constitutional Convention.
