The motion
That this House notes and welcomes the support of the United Kingdom in the Sixth Committee of the 1995 General Assembly, for the establishment of a Permanent International Criminal Court and the adoption of the General Assembly on 11th December, of a resolution establishing a Preparatory Committee to draft the statute of the International Criminal Court; and urges the Government to fully support and co-operate with the Preparatory Committee and ensure that the United Kingdom takes a leading role in drafting the statute and supporting proposals to convene a diplomatic conference in 1997 where a treaty establishing the International Criminal Court can be adopted.
