ENVIRONMENTAL CLAIMS ON PRODUCTS

That this House congratulates the National Consumer Council on their report Green Claims which reveals that people are being hoodwinked by false and misleading environmental claims on products; urges manufacturers to review their labelling practices and avoid making environmental claims that are unverifiable and vague, woolly, specious or misleading; and calls on the Government to take action to stop companies who persist in trying to con consumers in this way.
