REGIONAL GOVERNMENT AND DARTFORD

Tabled by Mr Bob Dunn (Conservative) 4 signatures

The motion

That this House notes the commitment of the Labour Party to the imposition of regional government on England; anticipates that the M25 would be the new boundary for regional government for London which would have the effect of splitting the community of Dartford into two, the western half being run from London and the eastern half from Guildford; further notes that regional government would create six levels of government for the tax payer to finance, namely, parish councils, regional government, the Westminster Parliament and the European Parliament; and registers the opposition of the honourable Member for Dartford to regional government as being against the interests of the people of Dartford in particular and the rest of England in general.
