The motion

That this House expresses its concern over the continuing damage to hundreds of the most valuable wildlife sites in the United Kingdom; welcomes the Wildlife Bill drafted by Friends of the Earth, launch by former senior figures from the Nature Conservancy Council, which will address weaknesses in the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 which permit damage to hundreds of officially designated sites of special scientific interest; notes that 259 honourable Members signed an Early Day Motion in support of the Bill in the last Session of Parliament; and hopes that time will be found to pass the Bill in the current session.
