A5/A55 ACROSS ANGLESEY

That this House notes with concern the delay in the commencement of the A5/A55 programme of road improvements across Anglesey as a result of the project being financed through the Private Finance Initiative; calls on the Welsh Office to improve safety on the current A5 by the provision of pelican crossings in all the villages along its route; and demands that such crossings be in place prior to the 1997 summer tourist season.
