The motion
That this House is concerned that food manufacturers, when specifying that their product contains vegetable fat, do not have to specify from what vegetable the fat came, and as a consequence therefore could put at risk that 3 per cent. of the population who suffer from a nut allergy; notes that the European Commission is currently considering whether to require the listing of certain allergens whenever they are used in pre-packaged food; and calls on Her Majesty's Government to bring forward its own proposals to protect people with such allergies as a matter of urgency.
