NIGERIAN POLITICAL PRISONERS

That this House notes that the Nigerian Government, under pressure from the Commonwealth, has just released three political prisoners, including Mr Gani Fawehini, leader of the National Conscience Party; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to step up its efforts to gain the release of all political prisoners, including Chief Mashood Abiola, the winner of the country's presidential elections in June 1993.
