PARTY POLITICAL BROADCASTS

That this House condemns the proposal for the BBC and ITC to withdraw party political broadcasts outwith election periods; further condemns the process by which this recommendation has been made without reference to Parliament; calls for the continuation of party political broadcasts between elections; and suggests that broadcasters focus their discussions on finding additional ways of involving and educating viewers in politics and the political process rather than trying to abdicate their responsibility.
