PROMOTION OF SUNDERLAND AFC

That this House congratulates Sunderland AFC on their promotion to the Premier League under the skilful and inspired management of Peter Reid; notes that as well as the players and coaching staff, tremendous credit is due to Chairman Bob Murray and Chief Executive John Tickling and their fellow directors for providing the Stadium of Light and selfless and totally dedicated administration which has made this promotion possible which itself is a great boost to the wonderful Sunderland AFC supporters who have inspired the team following the bitter disappointment of failing to achieve promotion last season when failing to win the play-off final for third position in a penalty shoot out; and further wishes the club the success it deserves next season in the Premier League where it undoubtedly belongs.
