DUMFRIES AND GALLOWAY STANDARD'S MILLENNIUM JOBS CRUSADE

The motion
That this House notes with regret the continuing economic difficulties facing Dumfries and Galloway; congratulates the Dumfries and Galloway Standard on its Millennium Jobs Crusade initiative in partnership with the Employment Service, the Careers Service and Dumfries and Galloway Enterprise to get more than 100 unemployed people in Dumfries and Galloway into work in 2000; calls upon Her Majesty's Government to do all it can to support the initiative; and wishes the newspaper every success in achieving its objective.
