GUIDE TO CARE STANDARDS FOR CHILDREN'S HEART SERVICES

That this House congratulates the Children's Heart Federation on the publication of, Children's Heart Services - A Guide to Care Standards, developed in conjunction with the British Paediatric Cardiac Association and Constructive Dialogue for Clinical Accountability; welcomes its objective to set a framework for the relationship between a heart child's family and paediatric cardiac services, particularly following the events that took place at the Bristol Royal Infirmary between 1984 and 1995; further welcomes the joint contribution that was made to the guidance by both medical professionals and representatives of patients and their families; and calls on the Government to announce its conclusion on the review of paediatric cardiac services as soon as possible.
