Tabled by Jonathan Shaw (Labour)

The motion
That this House believes that school students have the right to be consulted on all matters affecting them and that meaningful involvement helps to prevent and combat disaffection and disruptive behaviour; and calls on the Government to translate its pledge in the Education White Paper to promote participation in schools into a new duty on local education authorities and governing bodies to give due regard to the views of children and young people in all matters affecting them in the forthcoming Education Bill.
