The motion
That this House, recognising the symbolism of Remembrance Sunday as a reminder of the tragic losses in war, asks the churches to dedicate this year's services especially to a weekend of prayer for peace and freedom from terrorism; invites the leaders of other faiths in our now diverse society to join the churches by similarly dedicating their main service in the days closest to Remembrance Sunday; believes that this could help focus on the reality that there is cross-faith unity in the desire for all our people to live in friendship, regardless of race or religion; and believes everyone can join in a common wish for all our children to live in peace.
