The motion
That this House believes the collapse last week of Peter Miles Engineering, Leigh leaves a string of unanswered questions; is appalled that around 160 loyal employees were left out of a job overnight and owed five weeks wages; urges the Department for Trade and Industry to recognise the financial pressure this has placed on local families and process claims for redundancy payments as quickly as possible; considers attempts by the company's owner to set up again in business adds insult to injury and are undeserving of any public support, and further calls on the Department for Trade and Industry to carry out a full inquiry to establish the full facts of the sudden demise of this company.
