STOCKPORT STOCK TRANSFER

That this House notes with alarm the way Stockport Council is running its stock transfer campaign; further notes that the council is now so desperate to get a yes vote it is refusing to provide local honourable Members with a list of tenants eligible to vote, that it is using housing officers to canvass for a yes vote, with a bonus of ú400 for every 300 contacts and that it instructs those canvassers to mislead tenants by implying there will be no rent increases and that all will get new bathrooms and kitchens and that tenants will get a bigger say in how their properties are managed; and deeply regrets that it is proceeding with the scheme in spite of there being major anomalies in the offer document.
