SECURITY SCREENS IN THE COMMONS

Tabled by Mr Robert Marshall-Andrews (Labour) 74 signatures

The motion

That this House rejects and opposes the installation of a security screen between the Strangers' Gallery and the Chamber of the House; notes with respect and gratitude the concerns of the security services and the police but considers the direct, unobstructed relationship between public and Parliament to be an essential part of our democratic process; and further considers that obstruction or erosion of that process would represent a victory for criminal terrorist organisations.
