LORD PENROSE'S REPORT ON EQUITABLE LIFE

That this House notes that Lord Penrose's Report finds extensive evidence of regulatory failure, including operational failure, throughout the 1990's; and calls on the Government to find a way in which either the Parliamentary Ombudsman or Lord Penrose himself can now examine possible maladministration by the Government Actuary's Department and other regulatory bodies, in order to make recommendations on compensation.
