POST OFFICE CLOSURES - BURNLEY

That this House regrets the closure of the Branshaw Road Post Office on 28th February and the Oxford Road branch on 2nd March; notes that these closures will complete the seven proposed closures; considers that this action confirms the widely-held view that the consultation exercise was a sham, ignoring all representations, petitions, protests and demonstrations and ignoring in particular the need for local post offices of the elderly and poorer sections of the community; and hopes that no further closures proposals will be forthcoming and that the Post Office will try to improve access to local post offices for all sections of the community.
