CHILD DEATHS IN CUSTODY

Tabled by Mr Hilton Dawson (Labour) 75 signatures

The motion

That this House believes that no child should die in the custody of the state; considers that all honourable Members have a clear duty to end the use of penal custody for children; and recognises that in the rare circumstances where liberty has to be restricted children should be kept safe in appropriate secure accommodation which meets the standards and principles of the Children Act 1989.
