CONDUCT OF THE HONOURABLE MEMBER FOR BRISTOL EAST

Tabled by Mr Dominic Grieve (Independent) 37 signatures

The motion

That this House notes the conclusion of the preliminary report of the Joint Committee on Human Rights on the Prevention of Terrorism Bill, chaired by the honourable Member for Bristol East, that 'there can be no justification for including such wide and unprecedented powers of executive detention in legislation which is being rushed through Parliament at a speed which prevents proper scrutiny'; further notes the decision of the honourable Member to vote for the programme motion for the bill, against the amendment in the name of her honourable friend the Member for Bridgend and for third reading of the unamended bill; and invites her to explain how her committee's report is compatible with her votes on this bill.
