The motion
That this House welcomes the second annual National Identity Fraud Prevention Week, taking place between 16th and 22nd October; fully supports the objectives of the campaign; notes that, despite a series of awareness drives, too many people are still putting themselves at risk, and that people could, and should, be doing more to protect their identities; is aware that identity fraud is estimated to cost the economy £1.7 billion; and calls on everyone to stop taking chances with their identity and to start getting wise about identity fraud.
