That this House notes with pleasure that The Sun newspaper has printed a week-long Global Warning feature on reducing climate change and other environmental impacts; thanks The Sun for highlighting the findings of its recent opinion poll that 63 per cent. of Britons would be prepared to sacrifice one foreign holiday by air travel annually to help save the planet; also notes recent MORI poll findings that on balance Britons favour slowing the growth of air transport and a doubling of air passenger duty; and therefore calls for measures greatly to restrict any further growth in civil aviation so that Parliament will be in step with and not behind the electorate on this important aspect of controlled greenhouse gas emissions.
