COMMUNITY CHARGE REDUCTION SCHEME

That this House notes with disbelief the attempt by the Labour Party to scrap the community charge reduction scheme which has benefited those hardest hit by the community charge; notes that thousands of couples in Hyndburn received a £500 reduction on this year's community charge as a result of the scheme, whilst many families of three save over £800, and savings for large families are well over £1,000; and condemns the Labour Party's attempts to deprive hard-hit community charge payers of this welcome relief.
