HOWARD LEAGUE FOR PENAL REFORM'S COMMUNITY SENTENCES CUT CRIME CAMPAIGN

That this House applauds the Howard League for Penal Reform's Community Sentences Cut Crime campaign; supports the development of well-resourced and structured community sentences which can cut crime by 14 per cent. by bringing down the rate of re-offending and at the same time help to heal the damage caused by crime, creating a safer society where people take responsibility and make amends for their actions; and calls on the Government to support effective community sentences and programmes.
