The motion
That this House values the important educational and cultural roles of heritage and conservation charities, many of which are independent museums; recognises that the existence and development of such bodies relies not only on the efforts of volunteers but also on admission charges; welcomes the vital financial assistance which Gift Aid has given to them; is concerned that the removal of the Gift Aid provision on admission charges would result in a loss of income to independent museums; and urges the Government to continue to allow these charities to benefit from Gift Aid without restriction of the existing conditions.
