UN RESOLUTION ON DIABETES

That this House notes with grave concern the increasing problem of diabetes in the UK and internationally; further notes that in many parts of the developing world, because of lack of available treatment and drugs, diabetes can mean certain death; congratulates Diabetes UK on its support for the campaign for a UN resolution on diabetes which would urge member states to improve care and treatment, to adopt robust policies to prevent type 2 diabetes and to promote research into the condition; and calls on the Government to actively support the proposed resolution.
