ELECTIONS IN ECUADOR

That this House congratulates Rafael Correa on his emphatic election victory in Ecuador; notes his commitment to prioritise pro-poor policies and reconsider any free-trade agreement with the United States which seldom deliver social improvements to the poorest and indigenous populations of Latin America; commends the continuing democratic direction towards self-determination and social equality across the continent; and calls on the Government to prioritise the rebuilding of independent UK relations with Latin American nations.
