LABOUR PARTY CONSULTATION ON TRIDENT

That this House notes that a three month consultation is proposed on the forthcoming White Paper on the future of the UK Strategic Nuclear Deterrent; regrets that the Government has decided its position in advance of this; deplores the fact that Labour hon. Members are to be denied a free vote; and calls on the National Executive Committee of the Labour Party formally to consult all constituency Labour parties, party branches and affiliated organisations and to publish the results before the vote in the House.
