The motion
That this House deplores the brutal victimisation of leaders of the Zimbabwean Congress of Trade Unions by agents of the Mugabe regime during recent lawful demonstrations; and supports all those, including ACTSA (Action for Southern Africa), who are calling for every EU member state to apply rigorously and to support the renewal of restrictive measures imposed by the Council of Ministers on individuals closely associated with the regime, freezing any financial assets held within the EU and banning them from travelling within the EU, until the fundamental rights of the people of Zimbabwe to free association, free speech and free and fair elections are respected.
