GROWTH OF COMMUNITY SPORT

That this House welcomes the registration of the 4,040th Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC); praises the contribution of the CASC scheme to the development of grassroots sport in the United Kingdom; welcomes the re-investment of over £15.8 million in community sport since the scheme began; further welcomes the establishment of a CASC website dedicated to providing more information about the scheme; celebrates the value of community sport, particularly in its contribution to the health of the population, cutting crime and anti-social behaviour, raising educational attainment and building community cohesion; and urges the Government to continue to support the growth of community sport.
