NEW YEAR AND BIRTHDAY HONOURS AND LIFE PEERAGES

Tabled by Sir Bob Russell (Liberal Democrat) 35 signatures

The motion

That this House believes that New Year and Birthday honours and life peerages should not be awarded to those who have chosen to live abroad to avoid paying taxes in the UK, or to those who have transferred their business interests overseas resulting in the loss of jobs in the United Kingdom; and calls on the Government to consider how such honours can be removed from those who have put their personal financial interests ahead of their loyalty to the UK and the interests of the country from which they have benefited.
