The motion

That this House congratulates the Country Land and Business Association (CLA) in its centenary year; notes that the founders of today's CLA first met at the Station Hotel, York on 26th January 1907 to promote the interests of agriculture and landownership in a constructive and progressive manner following unprecedented depression; further notes that, 100 years later, the CLA continues to campaign for policies that respond to the contemporary needs of the rural economy; further notes that the CLA's 38,000 members are involved in over 250 different types of businesses, reflecting economic change in rural areas; and wishes it continued success for the future.
