DEATHS OF BRITISH CITIZENS IN SAUDI ARABIA COACH CRASH

That this House sincerely regrets the death of three British nationals in a coach crash in Saudi Arabia on 9th December 2006; notes that Mr Gorji lost his wife and suffered serious burns and that the driver of the vehicle had been driving for approximately 18 hours without a break; further notes that over 25,000 British pilgrims travel to Saudi Arabia each year; and calls on the Foreign Office to make appropriate representations to the government of Saudi Arabia on the issue and take steps to ensure the safety of travel for pilgrims.
