INSURANCE FOR LEASEHOLDERS

That this House welcomes the fact that the Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002 allows leaseholders to insure property with an insurer of their own choice; further notes that leaseholders continue to be harassed, bullied and misled into using an insurer who pays commission to the landlord; and calls on the Government to force landlords and insurers to make leaseholders aware of their statutory rights.
