The motion

That this House notes the excellent work carried out by Chorley and South Ribble Home-Start in promoting the welfare of families with at least one child under the age of five years, offering friendship and practical help to families under stress in their own homes and helping to prevent family crisis and breakdown; pays tribute to the dedicated volunteers who assist families and ensure that the organisation is run effectively; expresses concern that the service may close down due to lack of funding; welcomes the Government funding of £4 million for the introduction of super nannies to help families with young children, but recognises that Home-Start already supports families with young children; and calls on the Government to channel funds into Home-Start so that it can continue to play a valuable role within the local community.
